 Radio Dabanga reports that the chairman of Sudan’s Sovereign Council, Lt Gen Abdelfattah al-Burhan, stressed the importance of examining the structure and the arrangement of tasks of the Transitional Partners Council (TPC), explaining   that the military component of the Sovereign Council respects and remains committed to the Constitutional Document signed by Sudan’s military and the Forces for Freedom and Change in 2019.

He also stressed the importance of overcoming crises with wisdom and collective action, adding that the formation of the TPC aims to enable state agencies to focus on solving people's problems.

 Nonetheless, the TPC has faced criticism from key stakeholders including Prime Minister Hamdok and the Central Council of the Forces for Freedom and Change (FFC), who stressed the importance of preventing a transgression of the power of the country's constitutional institutions to the TPC.

Sudan Tribune reports that the Qatari Ministry of Defence has announced the conclusion of joint military exercises with the Sudanese army in the Red Sea State.

The Sudanese military has not issued a statement about this exercise. The Eritrean government issued a statement on November 29 accusing Qatar of continuing to provide military support to the opposition groups, and that it was using Sudan as a springboard.

8/12/2019: Sudan Tribune - U.S. is keen to remove Sudan from terror list as soon as possible: O’Brien

Sudan Tribune reports that US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien told Sudanese Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok that his country is keen to remove Sudan from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list as soon as possible.

O’Brien met with Hamdok at the White House, during the last day of Hamdok’s trip to Washington. The meeting was also attended by Jamal Omer, Sudan’s Minister of Defence and Ambassador Omer Siddiq, Permanent Representative of the Sudan Mission to the United Nations.

O’Brien affirmed the support of US President Donald Trump for the transitional government in its attempts to achieve sustainable democratic transformation in Sudan.
