 AP reports that the Declaration of Freedom and Change has abandoned plans for marches next week, after it reached a power-sharing deal with the ruling military council following a weekslong standoff over the role of the army in the transition.

 However, rebel group the Sudan Liberation Movement slammed the deal as a “betrayal of the revolution.” The SLM said that a peace deal had not yet been reached with them.
