18/1/2021: Multiple sources – Over 40 killed in South Darfur clashes

Over 40 people were  killed as a result of bloody confrontations between the Fallata and Rizeigat tribes in Al-Tawil area of Gereida locality, about 100 km south of the South Darfur State’s capital Nyala.  The Fallata and Rizeigat tribes clash often over stolen livestock.

The Fallata trace their origins to the Fulani people of west Africa, whereas the Rizeigat are an Arab-identifying tribe.
